There are many fantastic places to visit within a short drive (or even walk or cycle!) of our lovely Perthshire holiday cottage. From the medieval history of Dunkeld Cathedral and the ancient Birnam Oak to the thriving contemporary arts centre at Birnam Arts, there's something for history buffs, art lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, families, walkers, mountain bikers and cyclists.

Scone Palace has an exciting and colourful history as one of Scotland's most important stately homes. Fifteen hundred years ago it was the capital of the Picts.
It has been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce. The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts and the grounds are renowned throughout the world, making the stately home one of the most popular tourist attractions in both Perth and Scotland.
Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve covers 98 hectares near Dunkeld. From early April to late August, the star attraction is a pair of breeding ospreys, which nest just 150 metres from the observation hide.

Birnam Arts is a wonderful community arts venue with a 200 seat performance space which has hosted some surprisingly big names!
It has a lovely cafe which is complemented by a variety of multi purpose rooms, with regular events and shows taking place.
A true historic treasure of Scotland - Dunkeld Cathedral is one of Scotland's great medieval cathedrals, with roots going back to when Dunkeld was the country's centre of Christianity.
